Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 11.6 inch, LTE, Windows 8 convertible Coming Soon

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix – the new Windows 8 convertible peeped in Chinese Tech site ZOL last October. Though the company hasn’t made any official statements, the recent FCC approval confirms the existence of ThinkPad Helix. Earlier Engadget reported that the device is destined to launch in China and Israeli, but now after passing FCC approval Lenovo ThinkPad Helix is expected to hit US stores.

According to ZOL, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Helix will sport a 11.6 inch, 1920×1080 pixels capacitive multi-touch display, which can be detached from its keyboard dock for tablet use. The convertible will run on Windows 8 and powered by 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Intel Core i7 processor alongside Intel GMA HD 4000, Integrated camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. It also comes with a Lithium Battery that offers up to 10 hours of runtime.

 As per FCC approval, Lenovo ThinkPad Helix will support AT&T specific 700MHz and AT&T compatible 1700MHz and 2100MHz bands. Currently there is no word on pricing and release date of Lenovo ThinkPad Helix. Full details including pricing, features and specs will be announced at the time of the official launch.
