Samsung has announced the Galaxy Xcover 2 - A new rugged Smartphone running Android 4.1 OS. Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 is aimed at active explorers who are in need of sturdy handsets to enjoy their outdoor activities. The handset comes with an IP67 certification - meaning it is dust proof and can withstand water immersion for 30 minutes at a depth of up to one meter.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 flaunts a 4-inch, 480x800, WVGA TFT display and houses a 1GHz dual-core processor alongside 1GB of RAM. It packs an internal memory of 4GB and supports MicroSD card up to 32GB. The Smartphone sports a 5MP Autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA quality front-facing camera.
Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 supports wireless connectivity via 3G/HSPA, GSM/EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.0. The enhanced GPS and GLONASS satellite signal detection system tracks the location more accurately.
