Firefox OS Smartphones - Keon and Peak, First Batch Sold Out Within Hours

The first Smartphones running on the new Firefox OS sell like hot cakes. Spanish handset manufacturer, Geeksphone reported that it has sold out the first batch of Smartphones within hours. The first batch was offered as a developer model for people looking to write apps for the new Firefox OS based Smartphones. It includes two versions, an entry-level model namely Keon and a bit higher-end model called Peak.

Firefox OS - Keon Smartphone

Keon Sports a 3.5-inch HVGA screen and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor with 512MB of RAM. It has a 4GB of internal memory with MicroSD support. There's also a 3MP camera on the rear. It houses a 1,580mAh battery and supports 3G–HSPA and quad-band GSM radio.

Firefox OS - Peak Smartphone

Peak, on the other hand flaunts a 4.3-inch qHD IPS display and comes equipped with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor alongside 512MB of RAM. In terms of connectivity it supports 3G-HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Among the other specs, Peak includes a 4GB of internal memory, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera and a 1,800mAh battery.

Currently both the Smartphones are offered as a developer preview model. There's no word on pricing and availability of the devices, but is expected to carry a starting price tag of about $120.
