Google Glass is ready for shipping and the tech specs are out officially. To configure and manage the Glass device, Google has released an Android companion app known as MyGlass. The companion app will work on Android devices that run Android v4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher and is now available for download from Google Play Store.

Once the App is installed and configured, it links the Glass to the user's Google account. Since MyGlass companion app is enabled with SMS and GPS, it requires permission to send/receive messages (both SMS and MMS) and to get your precise location using GPS. The App may also delete messages without showing them to the user.

Currently, the MyGlass companion app is available only for devices running on Google's Android OS. It's unsure whether the app will be available for other platforms in the near future.
