HTC Unveils Desire P with 4.3-inch, 8MP, 1GHz Dual-core for Taiwan

HTC Desire P

HTC has unveiled the Desire P for the Taiwan Audience. Priced at NT$10,900 (~USD $360), the new handset is also available with contract through Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) in various subsidized packages. Earlier this year, the company has announced Desire U, a budget friendly Android Smartphone.

HTC Desire P sports a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display and offers a resolution of 480x800 pixels. Internally, the device is powered by an 1GHz dual-core processor alongside 768 MB of RAM and runs on Android with HTC Sense 4.0. Regarding the Android version, it is likely to run on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean. The 4GB of internal memory available can be expanded up to 32GB with a MicroSD card.

In terms of camera specifications, HTC Desire P has an 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and BSI sensor for better low light shooting. It is also capable of WVGA video recording. The sound effects are taken care by Beats Audio system. Measuring a thickness of 10.7mm, the device weighs 136 grams with 1620 mAh battery. There's also an array of connectivity options that includes dual band 3G-HSPA, Wi-Fi (820.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth v4.0 with aptX, 3.5 mm jack, GPS and GLONASS.

The HTC Desire P will retail for NT$10,900 (~USD $360). However Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) will offer it at a subsidized rate with contract for Taiwan market. There's no word on the global roll out of the device.
