It's raining Phablet device this year, the latest to join the bandwagon is Acer. Acer has announced its first Phablet device today and it is dubbed as the Acer Liquid S1.

Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, Acer Liquid S1 sports a 5.7-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a quad core Mediatek processor clocking at 1.5GHz and equipped with 1GB of RAM. There's also 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a MicroSD card.

Acer Liquid S1 comes with AcerCloud Docs that allows users to wirelessly retrieve their files. The Phablet can also be used to project presentations in 720p HD and print documents directly from the device using the wireless display and print features.

The Acer Float User Interface that sits on top of the Android core brings up a floating translucent screen above all the open apps. Users will be able to work with a selected number of apps like camera, maps, calculator and notes on the Float User Interface. The Float Caller notification alerts on an incoming call with a mini-window without interrupting the running app.

For connectivity, it has 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The front facing camera has an 88-degree wide viewing angle and a 24 mm lens to capture wider. The Voice Shot feature allows users to capture hands-free photos just by saying "cheese". Audio is taken care by DTS Studio Sound.

Acer Liquid S1 comes with a starting price of €349 (~USD $430) and will be available in Q3 2013 in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia, UK and Germany, followed by Spain and Italy.
