Blackberry Inc. has announced the Q5, an affordable Smartphone running BlackBerry 10 OS. The Q is for QWERTY and the handset comes with QWERTY keypad like its big brother Q10. In order to make the Smartphone affordable to larger section of the masses, the company has downgraded many features that the Q10 had.

Blackberry Q5 dons a 3.1-inch IPS LCD touch display with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels. It packs a dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz alongside 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory with expandable memory slot. There's a 5 MP Autofocus rear camera with LED flash and capable of recording full HD (1080p) videos. In addition, it also has a 2 MP front facing camera for video chat.

For connectivity, it has LTE, 3G-HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, MicroUSB v2.0 and NFC. It is powered by a 2180 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. The device gets many of the best of BlackBerry 10 OS like BlackBerry hub, BBM video, time shift mode and story maker. The QWERTY keypad resembles the BlackBerry Curve series.
