Microsoft unveils Xbox One with AMD x64 8-core CPU and 500GB HDD

Microsoft has announced its most advanced gaming console - the Xbox One at E3 2013. The Xbox One has almost identical specs to the Sony PlayStation 4 and is priced $100 more than it. The exterior casing resembles a large black set-top box with an integrated Blu-ray drive and USB 3.0 port.

The Xbox One packs an 8-core x64 AMD 'Jaguar' CPU alongside 8GB of DDR3 RAM. Internally there's a 500GB hard disk space. In terms of connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11n with Wi-Fi direct and Gigabit Ethernet. Among other specs, it has both HDMI-out port and HDMI-in port, Optical out, USB 3.0 and Blu-ray Drive.

Microsoft claims the Xbox One controller is the ultimate all-in-one entertainment system, which offers wide variety of games, music, live TV, movies, sports, apps and Skype. The company also offers a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members.

Microsoft Xbox One will be available in 21 countries around the world starting this November. The device is priced at $499.99 in the US, £429 in the UK and €499 in European markets.
