Sony has revealed the world’s first SmartWatch with NFC connectivity - the SmartWatch 2 (SW2) at Mobile Asia Expo 2013, Shanghai. The company has earlier hinted about the launch in its official Twitter handle.
Sony SmartWatch 2 (SW2) sports a 1.6-inch Transflective LCD touch screen with a display resolution of 220 x 176 pixels. It is made of aluminum body and comes with IP57 certification for water-resistance. It can also work as a standalone digital watch, when not paired with an Android device.
For connectivity, it has one-touch NFC and Bluetooth 3.0. It can be paired with any devices running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and later. It allows users to handle calls by simply touching their wrist. With smart camera app, users can snap photos remotely from their SmartWatch. And also, notifications like messages, calls, email, Weather, Facebook, Twitter and other new events are delivered to the wrist without reaching for the phone.
