LG Unwraps World’s Slimmest (2.2mm) 5.2-inch 1080p Smartphone Display
LG Display, the display-making affiliate of LG Electronics, shows off the world’s slimmest full HD LCD Panel for Smartphones. Measuring at 5.2-inches diagonally, the state-of-the-art panel is aimed at the premium mobile device market.
The panel dimensions a scant 2.2mm thin with a 2.3mm bezel and offer better grip-ability and a superior viewing experience. Based on the Advanced One-Glass-Solution (OGS), the LCD panel has dual flexible printed circuits between the panel and touch film, thereby reducing the number of lines in the panel by more than 30 percent.
The 5.2-inch full HD LCD panel has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels consisting of Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) sub-pixels and offers a brightness of 535 nits at maximum. For better visibility in outdoor sunlight conditions, it has a contrast in real-life surroundings with Ambient Contrast Ratio of 3.74:1 based on 10,000 lux.
The panel is expected to feature in the LG Optimus G2 Smartphone.
