LG Display, the display-making unit of LG Electronics has announced the world's first Quad HD AH-IPS LCD panel for Smartphones. Measuring at 5.5-inches diagonally, the new LCD panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 538 ppi. The company claims it to be the world's highest resolution and ppi (pixel per inch) mobile panel to date.

The new Quad HD panel has 4 times more pixels than 1280 x 720 HD display and offers more delicate colors, improved contrast and vividness when compared to current mobile displays. Customers will get life-like and crisp images, and even Blu-ray equivalent video, on their Smartphones.
