ASUS launches its new Fonepad 7 tablet in India. It was initially unveiled at the IFA 2013 in Berlin last September.

The new ASUS Fonepad 7 sports a 7-inch HD LED Backlit IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at 216 ppi. Internally, it is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor alongside 400MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 1GB RAM. Under the hood, it runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS.

For storage, it comes with 16GB of internal memory with up to 32GB MicroSD support. The device is equipped with a 5MP autofocus rear camera and a 1.2MP front-facing camera capable of recording videos at 1080p and 720p respectively. It also has dual-front speakers with ASUS SonicMaster audio technology.

The new Fonepad 7 supports cellular voice-calling and has full connectivity options, including 3G-HSPA+, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. It houses a non-removable Li-Po 3950mAh battery and offers up to 28 hours of 3G talk time, 35 days of standby time and up to 10 hours of video playback.
