LG unveils Smart Bulbs controllable with Android and iOS devices

LG has unveiled its first Smart Bulb that is compatible with Android and iOS devices. The LG Smart Bulb come in two variants - B1030EA5L6B (Color) and B1050EA5L6B (Day White). It can be controlled with any Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled devices running Android 4.3 and above or iOS 6 and above.

The LG Smart Bulb comes with some value added features like "Security Mode" and "Play Mode". The Security Mode turns the lights on when the owner is not at home. And the Play Mode (Android only) blinks light in tune with the music playing on connected device, creating a party atmosphere. It even flashes light when you receive a call.

It consumes 10W (watt) of power and offers more than 80 percent energy savings compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. LG claims that its Smart Bulb can last for more than 10 years with five hours of daily usage.

The LG Smart Bulb will be available in Korea for 35,000 South Korean Won (~USD $33). There's no word on the availability in other markets.
