Google Launches Android One Phones with Latest Features in India

Google has launched the first family of Android One phones in India and makes high-quality Smartphones with latest features accessible to as many people as possible. Android One is a new family of Android devices that runs the latest version of Android and comes with a high-quality hardware package tuned for Android.

Android One phones are made using Google's reference design, which offers a smooth, fast and lag-free experience at an affordable price. These phones will feature dual-SIM functionality, quad-core processor, front/rear camera, MicroSD card and all day battery.

At present, three Android One phones are launched in India, they are Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1, and Spice Dream UNO. All the three phones will feature dual-SIM functionality, 4.5-inch IPS display, 1.3GHz quad core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, MicroSD support, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, GPS and 1700mAh battery. They all run the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS and will automatically get the updates directly from Google for two years from launch.

Android One phone users will get 12 months free subscription to content on Google Play Newsstand. Users can also download and watch YouTube videos offline. In addition, Airtel SIM users can download the latest version of Android and apps from the Google Play store free of cost for the first six months.

The Android One phones are exclusively sold by three different online retailers in India. The Spice Dream UNO is the cheapest among the three and is available in Flipkart for Rs. 6299, the Karbon Sparkle V is available from Snapdeal for Rs. 6399, and the Micromax Canvas A1 from Amazon for Rs. 6499.

Google plans to launch Android One devices in Indonesia, the Philippines and South Asia (Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) by the end of the year, with more countries to follow in 2015.
